Summer of Events.

The first quarter of 2016 is shaping up to be a particularly busy start to the year for events and new model launches.

BMW is proud to partner with two significant sporting events this summer.

The first of these is the ASB Classic Festival of Tennis, with the women’s tournament taking place from January 4-9 followed by the men on January 11-16.

Some big international names are confirmed, including returning champion Venus Williams and world top-ten Jo–Wilfried Tsonga.

To recognise BMW’s ongoing association with the ASB Classic Festival of Tennis, we are delighted to offer 20 double passes to BMW E-nthusiast readers.

All you need to do is be one of the first callers to the BMW Tennis Hotline on 0800 639 269 – but you will need to be quick, as there are only a limited number of tickets available across the tournament.

Rounding out the first quarter is the BMW ISPS Handa New Zealand Open, which commences in Queenstown in March.

BMW has been involved with golf in New Zealand for almost twenty-five years and have found our involvement in the sport, especially partnering in a prestigious event such as the BMW ISPS Handa NZ Open, is an ideal environment to promote BMW’s key strengths of precision, dynamism, sportsmanship and being the Ultimate Driving Machine.

It will be played at Millbrook and The Hills courses and a star-studded line-up of 144 professionals will return to compete at the most picturesque of golf courses.

As part of the promotion of the event, NZ Golf is offering people who purchase tickets a special opportunity – the chance to win a round with top New Zealand golfer, Ryan Fox, and his legendary former All Black father, Grant.

Alongside these events, BMW is excited for the arrival of the all new BMW 7 Series to our dealerships in February.

This is the sixth generation of the flagship BMW sedan and the new model delivers power, performance as well as style and sophistication.

Extensive use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the passenger cell is based on the transfer of technology from BMW i and contributes to weight reduction of up to 130 kilograms compared to predecessor models.

The launch of the new model also marks the World premiere for BMW gesture control, a 3D sensor which allows intuitive and easy interaction with the infotainment system using predefined hand movements.

The BMW 7 Series is winning the world press over and has already achieved an important accolade here in New Zealand, where it was recognised by the country’s leading business publication, the National Business Review, as their Luxury Car of the Year.

This is an outstanding independent endorsement of the new model and positions it as the undisputed leader in the premium segment. For BMW this will definitely be a Summer to remember.
