NEW BMW X3 xDRIVE 35D DEBUTED AT THE ICE AND SNOW SPECTACULAR.

The newest and most powerful member of the BMW X3 family – the brand new 35d model made its official New Zealand debut at the BMW Alpine xDrive Experience high above the South Island’s Cardrona Valley.

The Managing Director of BMW Group New Zealand, Florian Renndorfer, says the country’s leading ice and snow driving event is the perfect place to showcase the performance of the latest X3 xDrive 35d variant.

“It was back in 2003 when BMW founded the mid-size Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment with the launch of the BMW X3. That means the BMW X3 has been a paragon of sporty dynamics, premium ambience and robust agility, coupled with low fuel consumption and emissions, for 12 years now.

“This powerful and dynamic new model, the 35d will set a new standard in performance of mid-sized SAVs.”

The power of the new model is up considerably when compared with its X3 xDrive 20d two-litre stable mate, boasting an increase of power from 140 to 230kW and increased torque from 400 to 630Nm. The new model shows its class in its performance stats for the 0-100km/h sprint – just 5.3 seconds.

The new BMW X3 xDrive 35d also boasts the latest iteration of BMW’s innovative ConnectedDrive technology, which further enhances the interface between the car and driver. Features include Intelligent Emergency Call, which is initiated by the vehicle itself in the event of an accident, as well Concierge Services, which allow the customer access to an on-call personal assistant via the dedicated BMW ConnectedDrive Call Centre.

Among the aesthetic enhancements are 20” BMW M light alloy wheels and an M Aerodynamics package. This is a Sports Activity Vehicle that matches performance and practicality with good looks.
