Two New Zealanders who epitomise what it means to be a BMW Ambassador are Josh Emett and Jeff Wilson. They represent what we’ve come to expect in our cars, intelligence, exceptional ability, and undeniable class. Both men have been on extraordinary journeys and have chosen BMW to drive their ongoing success.
Josh Emett, a Michelin Star chef, came from humble beginnings. At the optimistic age of 20 he left his hometown, Ngahinapour, for a grungy London lifestyle. But even then, his raw talent shone through. After picking up the most junior chef position at Gordon Ramsay’s acclaimed restaurant, Chelsea, Emett earned his keep. And four years later, he also earned a Michelin Star.
Since then he hasn’t taken his foot off the pedal, adding his role as a BMW Ambassador to his repertoire. Now, when he’s not creating exquisite dishes for his expanding restaurant empire, Emett is behind the wheel.
It’s no surprise that the globally renowned chef chose the BMW 435i Gran Coupé as his personal vehicle. Having come from a fast-paced kitchen environment, Emmet can appreciate the perfect marriage of precision and power. And like his cuisine, the sophisticated lines and intelligent details appeal to a refined sense of taste.
Similarly, BMW Ambassador Jeff Wilson is a man who has defied the odds. Moving from accomplished young sportsman to Sky Sports commentator, he’s one of only seven men to represent New Zealand as both a Black Cap and an All Black. ‘Goldie,’ as he’s still fondly known, played an impressive 60 tests in the black jersey, and despite having retired in 2002, still holds one of the highest try-scoring records in rugby union history. Naturally, Wilson isn’t about to settle for a vehicle that’s anything less than remarkable, and that takes the form of a BMW X5.
