Performance on the road is born on the track, and yet again BMW is leading the way. Since returning to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2012, BMW has become a familiar sight on the podium. The acclaimed silhouette racing car series takes place in Germany annually, with this year marking a fourth successful season for BMW, including five wins, 19 podiums, five fastest laps and seven pole positions.
It may only be year two for BMW M4 DTM in the racing series, but it has already proved a legend in the making. The M4 DTM helped BMW gain the top spot in the 2015 Manufacturer’s Championship and this latest success marks BMW’s seventh win from 12 possible titles.
Once again BMW Team RMG has ended the season as the best-placed BMW crew, with individual drivers showcasing their exceptional ability to outperform their competitors.
Leading the charge was Canadian, Bruno Spengler, with the incredible focus we’ve come to revere. Despite none of his six podium finishes being gold, Spengler became BMW’s most successful driver of the 2015 series.
Newcomer Tom Blomqvist took the unofficial title, ‘Rookie of the Year,’ qualifying top ten on nine different occasions, and demonstrating BMW Motorsport’s knack for discovering exceptional talent. Blomqvist follows the tradition of BMW greats, Augusto Farfus (2012), Marco Wittmann (2013) and Maxime Martin (2014).
The 2015 results are a testament to BMW’s drive. Precision enginnering and oustanding performance isn’t limited to the road, or confined to the track, it’s carved across every facet of BMW’s design. For additional details of the successful 2015 DTM season, view the BMW motorsport page.
